Addiction Nurse Practitioner | JULY 2024 – PRESENT • Diagnose, advise, and treat detoxing patients via tele-health with alcohol, opioid, stimulant-type, anxiolytics, polysubstance, and co-occuring use disorders using a medically assisted withdrawal model. • Prescribe, induce, titrate, and manage patients’ Medication-Assisted Treatment with Suboxone, buprenorphine, and other pharmacological treatments. • Counsel patients with motivational interviewing techniques to assist in reducing or abstaining from unhealthy use and relapse prevention. • Advise patients on harm reduction strategies in case of relapse on their journey to sobriety. • Assist vulnerable and diverse patient populations with substance use disorders and complex dynamics who may be suffering from chronic illnesses and without stable housing. Clinical Nurse IV/Relief Nurse Leader | Progressive Care Unit (ICU Stepdown) | OCTOBER 2013 – PRESENT • Provide acute care to adult cardiothoracic, neurological, septic, surgical, and pulmonary patients. • Manage and titrate various vasoactive drips. • Care for and manage chronic/stable ventilated patients. • Assist providers with emergent bedside procedures including: intubations, bronchoscopies, chest tube placement, and thoracentesis. • Act as relief nurse leader to a 34-bed unit. • Precept nursing students, new hires, new graduate nurses, and new nurse leaders.
